A Comprehensive View of the Book Titled
“LOVE, THE LAW OF THE ANGELS”
Which was authored by Gwen Shaw (Engeltal Press, 1979)

Since 2004, I have heard a lot about this group but I didn't think a lot about it, as there are groups all over the Ozarks like them. Then I began hearing negative things.... so rather than just accepting that people said, I felt I needed to study it and learn for myself.

I chose to look at their website, and found the titles of some of their books. I purchased Gwen Shaw's autobiography which didn't help much, and her book "Love: Law of the Angels," which told me volumes about the teachings of Gwen Shaw and the group's beliefs and apparent doctrines.

If anyone, men and women alike, who wish to be a part of Gwen Shaw's End-Time Handmaidens, are required to read Shaw's book, “Love, The Law of the Angels.” The End-Time Handmaidens (ETH-S) is a 'religious" organization founded by Shaw in 1970. Few who have heard of the End-Time Handmaidens, or Engeltal, or even who receive the ETH-S newsletter, understand who and what they are about. They usually see it as a bonified Holy Ghost filled organization like so many others. They have no idea that ETH-S teaches a form of devilish gnostic heresy. The reason for this is that few True Believers are aware of what gnosticism is.

So what is gnosticism? The term “gnosticism” comes from the Greek word for knowledge, “gnosis,” which is the belief that some knowledge of God comes only from experiences of a sort which only a few individuals may possess. The American Heritage Dictionary gives this meaning for 'gnosticism':

“The doctrines of certain pre-Christian pagan, Jewish, and early Christian sects that valued the revealed knowledge of God and of the origin and end of the human race as a means to attain redemption for the spiritual element in humans and that distinguished the Demiurge from the unknowable Divine Being.”

The teachings are also 'esoteric'. Dictionary.com gives the meaning of “esoteric” as:

1. understood by or meant for only the select few who have special knowledge or interest; recondite: poetry full of esoteric allusions.
2. belonging to the select few.
3. private; secret; confidential.
4. (of a philosophical doctrine or the like) intended to be revealed only to the initiates of a group: the esoteric doctrines of Pythagoras.

All through God's Word we find that the same idea over and over. In Romans 1^13a Paul writes that he would “...not have you ignorant...” This chapter is where Paul is letting the Romans know that he desires that they receive Spiritual Gifts (v11) and that he is “...ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” He's not keeping a thing from us, but rather is wanting us to know all things and have the power of the Living God. It's clear here that knowledge isn't for only a few; but for all.

This gnostic teaching implies that one receives the knowledge of God through revelation which is separate from and not a part of the Word of God.

IN THE BEGINNING:

We can go back to the Book of Genesis and see how gnosticism got it's start. It begins in the Garden when the serpent revealed to Eve that if they ate the fruit, they would be 'like gods' (Genesis 3⁵).

This is very closely related to occultism in which the truth is hidden from the individual.

"Love, The Law of the Angels" by Shaw is an text book on Gnostic Occultism. Every chapter instructs in Gnostic doctrines, while using twisted interpretations of the Word of God.

This Gnostic teaching is based upon a very different view of the creation of the first man, Adam. The teaching of ETH&S is NOT what the Holy Scripture reveals.

JEHOVAH GOD: A Bisexual God?

Shaw in "Love, the Law of the Angels" quotes many passages from the Word of God and even contains some truth, however, scattered throughout its pages are damnable heresies and doctrines of devils that will yield a crop of evil fruit in due time.

In chapter 13 of her book, "Love, the Law of the Angels," Gwen Shaw introduces the Gnostic concept that God is both male and female. Shaw writes,

“God is not only ‘male,’ He is ‘female.’ One of His names is El-Shaddai, which means ‘Mother-God.’ We see the completeness of God only as we realize this truth. He is both male and female... So when God created Adam, He made him like himself, creating in him the male and female characteristics.” (Love, the Law of the Angels, p.67)

This couldn't be further from the context of the entirety of the Word of God.

First, the word "el" means God. "Shaddai" means Almighty or all sufficient. Both of these stand firm in the context of the entirety of God's Word showing that Jehovah is 'God Almighty' as well as 'Almighty God.' Other passages where El Shaddai is translated as 'God Almighty,' 'Almighty God,' or 'the Almighty,' see: Genesis 17^1,2; 28³; 35¹¹; 48^3,4; 49^24,25; Numbers 24^4,16; Ruth 1^20,21; Isaiah 60^15,16; Isaiah 66^10-13; Revelation 16^7,14; 19¹⁵; 21^22,23

Miss Shaw's "Love: Law of the Angels," begins with:

“In the first few centuries A.D. Aramaic versions of the Old Testament introduced the word ‘Shekinah as a reverent, but indirect, term for God. In Exodus 25⁸ an ancient translation reads, ‘I will let my Shekinah dwell among the children of Israel.’"

This too is a misleading statement. Exodus 25⁸ actually says, "And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them."

The word "sanctuary" is translated from the Hebrew 'shekinah' and means "dwelling place" or 'sanctuary'.

This was yet another place where Shaw twisted the Word of God to fit her agenda for women.

She says, “‘It is interesting to notice that the Shekinah is referred to as feminine in more than a grammatical sense from the third century on. The Shekinah is called 'she.' 'She' is spoken of as being omnipresent in the world, but more often 'she' is physically localized. The Jerusalem temple was built to be 'her' permanent home.

She continued, saying, "When this temple was desecrated and destroyed, Ezekiel saw 'her' move out from the Holy of Holies and stand over the threshold of the house (Ezekiel 10⁴).

Again, twisted Scriptures. Ezekiel 10⁴ actually says that "...the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the Lord's glory."

We can see there is nothing to come close to implying that this "glory", or the Cherub, or anything else is female, or feminine.

JESUS CHRIST of NAZARETH: A Savior of Another Kind?

Gwen Shaw seems to twist the Word of God around rather freely. She quotes many passages, but misses the mark far too many times. In fact, her teachings lean far closer to Gnostic Doctrines rather than the Word of God.

She asks,

“Have you ever wondered where Jesus was for eighteen years of his life? That was between the ages of twelve and thirty. Have you ever thought about it? What was He doing? What was he learning? Where did He go? There are secrets in the life of Jesus hidden from our knowledge that God never permitted the writers of the Gospels to reveal to us. The American Indians have a legend that He appeared to them. The Hindus of India tell how He visited them also. Certain things must remain a secret until we see Him in Glory.

“...We are in the end time now when the seals will be opened and the righteousness of God will be revealed... We shall partake of His infinite knowledge and revelation...” (Love: The Law of the Angels, p.224)

This doctrine HAS to have come from so-called 'sacred books' other than the Word of God. This doctrine that Jesus Christ was in other places, gives way to allowing for more ways to God. However Christ Himself said that, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father, but by me." (John 14⁶)

God's Word gives every proof that Christ was a carpenter in his young adulthood. I find that the Word of God clearly shows that Jesus was a professional. He was a Carpenter. The Word says:

"Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? (Matthew 13⁵⁵)

"Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. (Mark 6³)

"For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honor in his own country." (John 4⁴⁴; See also: (Matthew 13⁵⁷; (Mark 6⁴)

Jesus Himself admitted he was a simple carpenter and being known as such, He would not be accepted as a Prophet, let alone as the Son of the Living God.

THE ANGELS: Impart the Holy Ghost

Where does Gwen Shaw receive all these extra-biblical revelations? She says that God has placed a 'veil' between the natural and spiritual realms; however, this 'veil' can be crossed in order to see and hear the spirits who are trying to contact us:

Gwen Shaw encourages her followers to look for and expect angelic visitations and well as visits by Jesus. She had written:

“There is a ‘veil’ between our eyes and the spirit world. Scales are on our eyes. We need to 'have our eyes anointed with eye salve' in order to let us see again what we shall one day see. The only things that are visible to us are the natural, material things. We live in the realm of the senses, 'except for now and then when God lifts that ban' and we are able to see what we call visions. It is then that 'we can see angels, our Lord.' There is a real spiritual world that is around us all the time, but it is only made visible to the spiritual eye and not to the natural eye...

“This is also true about our ability to hear... The voice of my Lord is speaking at all times, but only now and then is my ear quickened to hear that voice.

“During a time that I was living alone I remember one afternoon while I was resting, suddenly I was awakened and Jesus was speaking in my ear and telling me that in these last times there would be a glorious manifestation of the Elect, and His mighty power will fill those whom He had chosen to represent His glory on the earth. And then the tenor of His voice changed and He began to whisper. It was the voice of the most beautiful Lover. Full of love, He whispered right into my left ear, ‘I am coming very, very soon.’

“I will never forget that. I had heard the Lord speak 'audibly with these natural ears.' But He is speaking ALL the time. If only we could hear.” (Love, the Law of the Angels, p.142-43)

Shaw teaches yet another gnostic doctrine about the power of angels. She claims that visitations of angels are an evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, although this is nowhere stated in the New Testament. She wrote:

“Could it be that the quickening we receive through the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a part of that glorious 'millennium-enlightenment' that we are awaiting? I believe it is. This is also the reason why 'many when they are filled with the Holy Spirit see visions'. Here in America we seek tongues, and tongues are good; but we need to seek God. When we have the mighty fullness of the Holy Spirit, it will touch more than our tongue; it will touch our eyes and our ears and our memory. It will go into the depths of our being. On the mission field I have seen the 'mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit'. Children were taken into the heavenlies. 'They saw angels,' 'talked with Jesus' and 'visited their heavenly mansions.' The true visitations from God will be so dynamic that it will shatter our previous reservations and traditions which have blinded, deafened and dulled our spiritual understanding.” (Love, the Law of the Angels, p.145)

I find that 2 Corinthians 11¹⁴ teaches us that Satan comes as an "angel of light." Gwen Shaw teaches her End-Time Handmaidens and Servants that to abstain from seeking spiritual visions, such as angelic apparitions is a proof that one has little spiritual understanding.

In the Word of God we find many, many references that instruct us to never to seek spirits of any kind, other than the Holy Ghost, who is not a "familiar Spirit". We're warned about the "familiar spirits" (Deuteronomy 18^10-11). And we must remember (II Corinthians 11¹⁴).

Interestingly, this doctrine is so close to that of the Mormons and Annalee Skarin.

Both have written:

“Or have angels ceased to appear unto the children of men? Or has he withheld the 'power of the Holy Ghost' from them? Or will he, so long as time shall last, or the earth stand, or there shall be one man upon the face of the thereof to be saved?

“Behold I say unto you, Nay; for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and 'it is by faith that angels appear and minister unto men'; wherefore, 'if these things have ceased woe be unto all the children of men', for it is because of unbelief, AND ALL IS VAIN.’" (Moroni 8:43-44) (Ye Are Gods, p.105)

However, we are instructed quite clearly about these issues:

“Let no man [or woman] beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and 'worshipping of angels', intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind” (Colossians 2¹⁸⁾.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1⁸)

LUCIFER: A co-creator?

Shaw's teachings are that Lucifer who was co-creator of the world with God, offered the fallen Adam and Eve a means of freedom from their bondage in the things of the created world.

That freedom would be given them if they would only eat of the tree of the “knowledge of good and evil” which God had forbidden them to do. The forbidden fruit was the “spiritual enlightenment” with the power to have all knowledge of good and evil thus becoming "gods" just as Jehovah.

However, the other creator, Jehovah, intervened in Lucifer’s plan in order to keep man trapped in matter and subject to Himself. To prevent Adam from obtaining immortality on earth by taking of the 'Tree of Life,' “The Lord God sent him forth from the Garden of Eden. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.” (Geneis 3²⁴)

Trying to think of this as a Gnostic would, this God (Jehovah) is the “evil” which makes Lucifer the true God who is in a continuing battle with the Jehovah for possession of planet Earth and all who live here. Therefore, Lucifer’s offer still stands for those who will receive that “spiritual enlightenment” of the 'Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil" which gives the delusion that they can become “gods” and escape the control of Jehovah.”

Lucifer has used this doctrine of 'enlightenment' to deceive many, and form his false prophets who preach this false gospel. Lucifer has used many disguises in his great deception, but it all comes to the same conclusion.

Shaw writes:

"The creation of LIGHT was not the creation of the sun, moon, and stars... This was a different 'light'... this is none other than god's divine presence and His glory being beamed onto the scene of chaos...

"Another question I would like to ask you to ponder over is: Was Lucifer there when God created this planet, and did he have a part of God's universe before he fell and was cast down...? It is written of him, 'Thou hast been in Eden, the garden of God, every precious stone was thy covering... Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth and I have set thee so... thou hast sinned, therefore I will cast the profane out of the mountain of God and i will destroy thee... Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness, I will cast thee to the ground... (Ezekiel 28^13-18)

"What catastrophic drama really did take place back there? did Lucifer in retaliation toward God, because of his damning judgement, destroy this planet in one last act of revenge?

"And if Lucifer did try to destroy the handiwork of God's creation, would God not intervene... that is when God... declared, 'Let there be light!" ...This is not the light that one sees with the eyes... It is the light of enlightenment...

"The Glory of God is the Light of God and it was through this demonstration that all life began to exist.

The Hebrew word for 'light' means illumination, lightening, happiness, etc.... what is that light that gives enlightenment and life? it is the very essense, the ultimate nature of God Himself." (Love: Law of the Angles, p.130-4)

However, she leaves out some of the meaning of the Hebrew word. We must keep this in context with the time factors of the creation. The Strong's shows the Hebrew as "'owr, ore; from Hebrew 215 ('owr); illumination or (concrete) luminary (in every sense, including lightning, happiness, etc.) :- bright, clear, +day, light (-ning), morning, sun."

Illumination comes from the presence of physical light, such as a lightbulb, flame, etc. Illumination can also come from the natural light as light from the sun, stars, etc. However, the sun, moon, and stars were not created until Genesis 1¹⁴. That's when the physical lights, signifying day and night, began. Also, there were no candles, lightbulbs, or other more modern light emitting device. Therefore, this light Gwen Shaw is talking about in v3, cannot be refering to day and night, or the light thereof, nor an electrical or other artificial light device. However, if we look at the only other consideration, according to the Strong's number, "happiness" does provide an answer. Let's look into how happiness can tie to this kind of 'enlightenment'.

Dictionary.com unAbridged Dictionary gives synonyms for happiness as "pleasure, joy, exhilaration, bliss, contentedness, delight, enjoyment, satisfaction, bliss, contentment, felicity imply an active or passive state of pleasure or pleasurable satisfaction. Happiness results from the possession or attainment of what one considers good...

God had joy, delight, exhilaration, and satisfaction in His work. That was part of the illuminating light.

God said, "Let there be light" or in paraphrase, "Let there be joy, delight, exhilaration, and happiness." And indeed there was. The phrase of "Let there be light" was like saying, "Let the games begin," and then He proceeded... He proceeded to bring that "joy and pleasure."

I am also reminded of Revelation 4¹¹ which tells us that "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." It was for his delight, joy, and pleasure. But it doesn't support Gwen Shaw's doctrine.

When we look at God's reaction to each day's work, we must indeed see that there was indeed happiness involved in it. Each day after making something new, God looked at it and said, "It is good."

If we look at the Hebrew for the phrase "It was good..." which occurs after each day's work in the creation, we will find the following:

Strong's reference number is "H2896" and means: "...as an adverb (well): - beautiful, best, better, bountiful, cheerful, at ease, X fair (word), (be in) favour, fine, glad, good..., graciously, joyful, kindly, kindness, liketh (best), loving, merry..."

If you've ever watched a child in a science class. When he sees the experiment come to pass, his face will "light up" as he suddenly sees before his eyes, that wonderful change... That's the enlightenment we see here. God's joy in His putting earth together as He did.

The light of Genesis 1³ was simply a comment where God says what He's going to do. Again, "Let the games begin..." or in this case, "Let the joy begin." What did God Do? He brought happiness by making things that He saw as good. This is why He was so delighted at the end of each of his six work days. Thre was joy and pleasure in all His work.

Most of us are aware that the name 'Lucifer' means 'Light Bearer"... and Shaw teaches that this name came from a demonstration of the 'Light of God'...

His demonstration of light is indeed noted in the Word of God. Consider 2 Corinthians 11¹⁴ which tells us "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."

Did you get that?!? Transformed INTO an angel (messenger) of light!!

This Greek for "Transformed" is "metaschematizo, [met-askh-ay-mat-id'-zo]; from Greek 3326 (meta) and a derivative of Greek 4976 (schema); to transfigure or disguise; figurative to apply (by accommodation) :- transfer, transform (self).

Also, the word "light" is the Greek word "phos, [foce]; from an obsolete phao (to shine or make manifest, especially by rays; compare Greek 5316 (phaino), Greek 5346 (phemi); luminousness (in the widest application, natural or artificial, abstract or concrete, literal or figurative) :- fire light.

Then 2 Timothy 2¹⁵ instructs us to, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Using the Word of God to interpret the Word, I find that Lucifer's being "transformed" into an "angel of light," clearly shows that Lucifer is a liar, a deceiver, and will destroy you with this unGodly, doctrine of devils.

LUCIFER The Morning Star

Shaw teaches the same Luciferian doctrine of the Ordo Lapsit Exilis... which is the same teaching of the Masonic Temple, New Age teachings, and even is tied to the ancient god Venus.

However, in Revelation 22¹⁶, Jesus Himself declares that "I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.”

Gwen Shaw wrote:

“What is the morning star? It is the same star as the evening star. It is the first star out at night, way off in the western horizon, close to the new moon...

“The Lord said, ‘When you overcome every temptation with a heart full of gratitude and praise to God in the hour of testing, then He will give you the MORNING STAR.’ As the darkness of a long night begins to fade... your morning star will shine in its splendor even more beautifully because it is the only one left... Hang on a little longer children of God; when there is only ONE star left, the sun will soon usher in a new day. The name of that morning star is Venus. It is named after the goddess of love and beauty in Roman mythology. It is the star of love and beauty. God says, ‘I’ll give you the star of love and beauty... The glory of God will translate you into that glory which you desire.” (Love the Law of the Angels, p.140)

Apparently Gwen Shaw isn't aware that the title “Morning Star,” actually belongs to Jesus Christ only.

Jesus, in the Word of God says,

"I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star." (Revelation 22¹⁶)

Did you get that? Jesus tells us whom the "Morning Star" really is... It's Himself, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. However, this title is coveted by Lucifer whose evil character has been transformed by the Gnostic. For example, H.P. Blavatsky gives Lucifer the honor of being called the Morning Star in her Theosophical Glossary:

In (Revelation 22¹³) Jesus tells who He is saying, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." This is almost the same thing He said in Revelation 1¹¹

Another qualifying statment is in Revelation 1⁸ when Jesus says, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." There can be no doubt whom is speaking to John in the Revelation.

STILL have the audacity to imply that this was Lucifer... It's almost, if not, saying that the Christ is Lucifer instead. How BLASPHEMOUS !!

"Lucifer (Lat.). The planet Venus, as the bright ‘Morning Star.’ Before Milton, Lucifer had never been the name of the Devil. Quite the reverse, since the Christian Saviour is made to say of himself in Revelations (xvi.22) 'I am... the bright morning star’ or Lucifer." (p.192)

Shaw, in making the 'morning Star' and the planet Venus one and the same, wrote, “So the morning star is actually a planet.” (Love the Law of the Angels, p.41)

What an atrocious mutilation of God's Holy Word. Paying no mind to what Jesus Christ Himself said in this passage, these gnostic false teachers.

Pagans of many centuries past, worshipped the celestial bodies of stars and planets as gods and/or angels, which is the sin of astrology. God gave Israel strong warnings, against such activities, through His prophets.

Pagan idolatry with its sins, such as the worship of Venus, as the “goddess of love,” involved sexually promiscuous rites, and brought severe judgment on the nation of Israel:

“Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it. (Isaiah 47^13-14), and

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1^20-32)

MAN: Is Divine

Lucifer has been rebellious to God's authority and power since far before the world, as we know it, began. That rebellion had come from the sin of pride which is one of the three root sins (1 John 2¹⁶).

Lucifer has been a master at deception from the beginning (Revelation 12⁹; Revelation 20¹⁰; 1 John 3⁸). Lucifer, the serpent, deceived Eve, and through her, ultimately deceived Adam, in the "Garden of Eden" (Genesis 3^1-7). He deceived them when he said to Eve that, "For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3⁵).

However, I notice one distinct thing in what Lucifer had said. He told Eve that they would be "AS Gods"... that phrase is the Hebrew word "Elohim [el-o-heem'] which means "gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; ... mighty" (Strong's Exhaustive Concordance #H430)

Shaw wrote: “…When God created you, He put something of His own eternal life into you. The spark of God is in you. The Quakers were right. The spark of God is none other than God's own life in mankind.” (Love the Law of the Angels, pp.107,138-9)

Nearly all, if not all, cults and false prophets teach this "divinity of mankind" and "communicating with spirits" which are either spirits of the dead, and/or spirit guides (familiar spirits - devils). This is the abominable sin of necromancy.

Webster's Bible Dictionary describes a Necromancer as "One who pretends to foretell future events by holding converse with departed spirits; a conjurer."

How does this tie to man being as gods? Having access and [some] controls in both the temporal and spiritual realms would indeed give one a sense of being a god, or rather being "as God".

This reminds me of another, Jim Jones, who was a man of God, and gone awry when he began to think he was God. That's when he moved his group away. This is the same spirit we find in Engeltal where they teach that we are gods.

This reminds me of the passage which says, "And for this cause God shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (II Thessalonians 2^3-4, ^9-12)

Here's some of the "strong delusions" which Gwen Shaw teaches those who will be Spiritually ignorant enough to listen:

“We were created to be ‘gods’ ruling over the universe as joint heirs with Christ...

The blood was the very life of God in man. To shed that blood was to strike at the ‘God’ within man...

There's a woman who has been teaching New Age andOccultic dictrines for many years. Annalee Skarin was an alchemist mystic who has written many New Age books. The following is an excerpt from the Mormon book, Ye Are Gods, by Annalee Skarin. Note how the Mormon book parallels Shaw’s statement above, especially Skarin’s misleading interpretation of what it means to be “joint-heirs with Christ”:

“Thus it is that those who receive this Spirit of Jesus Christ, or the Spirit of Truth, are called gods... It means the living contact of each man with his Father — HERE and NOW. Those who have that living contact are gods. Such men can be called ‘gods’ for to them the Word of God comes continually, a living fountain of light...

"If we are ‘joint-heirs with Christ’ then we are equal with him, if we understand his truth and live by it, making it a part of our lives.” (Ye Are Gods, p. 252)

The false and dangerous doctrine that we are gods is a Mormon doctrine. Note in the next passage from "Love the Law of the Angels" that Gwen Shaw even uses the Mormon phrase that we are “co-equal with Christ.” Mrs. Shaw really takes liberties with the Word of God here:

“Jesus said, ‘I called you servants until now, but now I call you friends.’ He promoted us to friendship. He was making us co-heirs with Him. In other words, we became co-equal with Him; and in order to be co-equal with Him we must have the same characteristics as He has.” (Love the Law of the Angels, pp.47-8)

Annalee Skarin and Gwen Shaw both based there false teachings on the “spark of God in each man” heresy: Skarin writes: “Within each man this divine spark, or life and love, is enfolded, waiting to be brought forth by the understanding and command of each individual as he steps forth to take his place in the higher realms of divine progress.” (Ye Are Gods, p. 176)

BI-SEXUAL HUMANITY Individuals are both male and female

Gwen Shaw has done a good job of planting the ideas that God and man are both male and female, that she has little trouble taking that heresy even further.

Gwen Shaw teaches that Adam, who was created in the image of God, was also androgynous. She must again wrest the Scriptures to arrive at this heretical interpretation:

“God caused a ‘deep sleep’ to come upon Adam... The King James version says, ‘God took a rib out of Adam.’ But some of the early translations say, ‘God took a cell out of Adam. A ‘cell’ is defined as: ‘A small compartment or bounded area which is part of a whole.’ One might also translate this Scripture as reading, ‘God took a womb out of Adam,’ for the definition of womb is parallel to that of ‘cell’ in some respects. Webster defines the womb as ‘a cavity or space where something is generated.’ We can understand from this that God took the ‘cell’ or the ‘womb’ out of Adam and with that created the ‘womb-man’ or ‘woman.’ “...So when God created Adam, He made him like himself, creating in him the male and female characteristics.” (Love, the Law of the Angels, p.67)

With this Gwen Shaw also teaches the gnostic doctrine that Adam, the first man, was created androgynous, but was later divided into two sexes. She even tries to give this false teaching some credence by saying that an un-named Jewish rabbi supported it. She wrote, “One [rabbi] even concluded that "God made Adam androgynous," and later "separated him into Adam and Eve.” (Love the Law of the Angels, p.165)

Gwen Shaw tries to make the concept of an androgynous Adam reality. However, this teaching of androgynous man comes straight from the pits of hell through the mysterious Babylonian religion, which many Jews accepted while they were in captivity in Babylon. THis androgynous Adam is the “Adam-Kadmon” of the Kabbalah, which is the book of Jewish occultism derived from Babylon. The Jewish rabbi (if she did indeed have one) who made the above statement had to have been a Kabbalist, which we might be able to research if Gwen Shaw had been good enough to provide his name; but as we know, she did not.

This androgynous creation Gwen Shaw teaches is very close to the heretical creation doctrine which H.P. Blavatsky teaches.

Gwen Shaw’s rendition of the creation of man is similar to that of H.P. Blavatsky, the “Mother of the New Age Movement” as elucidated in her tome, "The Secret Doctrine."

Helena P. Blavatsky wrote: “Let anyone read the first verses of Chapter I of Genesis and reflect upon them. There ‘God’ commands another ‘god’ who does his bidding.... ‘And God said let there be light,’ and ‘there was light.’ Now the latter does not mean light at all, but in the Kabala, the androgyne ‘Adam-Kadmon,’ or Sephirah (Spiritual light), for they are one: or, according to the Chaldean book of numbers, the secondary angels, the first being the Elohim who are the aggregate of that ‘fashioning’ god.” (The Secret Doctrine, Vol. I., 1888, p. 337)

When researched, we find that this Kabbalah is the epitome of ‘secret doctrine’ which comes from ancient Babylon. While therein babylon, the Jews were exposed to this ‘secret doctrine’ with its magical arts (which God forbade: Deuteronomy 18:10-11). Many Jews chose to stay in Babylon after the captivity ended and adopted the Babylonian mystery religion as their own. Some of these Jewish apostates later came to Jerusalem with the oral traditions of the Babylonian Talmud and the Kabbalah, which later took written forms.

OTHER unBIBLICAL TEACHINGS: The Role of Women...

Miss Shaw wrote:

“Why is it that the Glory of God, His Shekinah, seems to be resting in greater magnitude on the daughters of Eve in this generation? This is very evident, not only in one country but in all the nations where I have worked for God, and especially where the women have been permitted by their male elders to let God’s glory be borne witness of through their freedom to speak. The women are... fast becoming the deepest of teachers. Men have not been quick to ordain them to the ministry, but God has been doing it since the beginning of time...” (Love: The Law of the Angels, p.166)

I've personally been to Engeltal and sat in some of their services. I found that the women are in control, with Mrs. Shaw at the top. All the men seemed to have the appearance of trained puppies. When a woman asked them to do something, the men jumped in obedience.

This is not how the Living God, Jehovah, had planned it. His Word says that women are "To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed" (Titus 2⁵). (See also, Eph 5^22-24,³³)

Ultimately, women are sternly instructed to "...not...to usurp authority over the man..." (1 Timothy 2¹²)

Also, other passages which bring understanding to the woman's place, are:

1 Peter 3⁷ - "Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor to the wife" as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Colossians 3¹⁷ - "Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord."

1 Peter 3¹ - "Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the deportment of the wives;"

1 Peter 3⁵ - For after this manner in former times the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:

Gwen Shaw apparently hates passages such as the above and is willing to be openly rebellious and defiant against God's Word. She writes:

"This brings us to the question, ‘Does the wife have to obey her husband when he is wrong, when his mind has been perverted by sin and he is controlled by demons? Does she have to give her body to be used by him in repulsive acts that are just plain orgy?’ NEVER. [Then she quotes Colossians 3:18]... "No good man would want to be responsible for bringing his wife under condemnation or sending her soul to hell... If he does cause her to sin and she loses her own soul, on the day of judgment... those who taught him that he had power over her to cause her to do evil will be judged together with him.” (Love: The Law of the Angels, pp.70-71)

Miss Shaw just doesn't seem to get around to answering her own question,

“Does the wife have to obey her husband when he is wrong?”

...but indeed does turn her thoughts to

“husbands whose minds are perverted by sin and controlled by demons,”

which puts them into a place where wives who are submissive and obedient to their husbands are condemned by her.

Apparently, she misses even more of God's Word. I find in 1 Corinthians 7^4,5 teaches us that "The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan may not tempt you for your incontinence."

This is telling us that when re-consummating the marriage is needed by either spouse, then the remaining one should if at all possible, give of themselves to their spouse.

Another thing which Shaw's question, and I repeat:

"Does she have to give her body to be used by him in repulsive acts that are just plain orgy? NEVER."

I wonder what she considers "just plain orgy?"

Here Mrs Shaw is deliberately instructing women to be disobedient and rebellious to their husbands and to God Himself by questioning whether a woman should have sexual relations with her husband. That's APPALLING!!!

Another issue which this brings up. She asks, "Does the wife have to obey her husband when he is wrong, when his mind has been perverted by sin and he is controlled by demons?"

I've wondered why so many women who support Shaw and her handmaidens are either divorced, separated, or in a tense marriage.

I've observed men whose wife clings to Gwen Shaw, her Handmaidens, and their teachings... and those men were rather lame in their authority in the family. They are nearly always in an obvious second place in the family, with the wife in full family leadership.

If a man understands the heresies which come from Shaw and her people, Gwen Shaw will certainly say that husband is demon possessed or cruel. At that point, the woman needs not to submit to, or obey her husband, as instructed by the Word of God.

With this in mind, Shaw again seems to refuse to adhere to the Word of God which says:

1 Corinthians 7¹⁰ - "And to the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:"

Romans 7² - "For the woman who hath a husband, is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband is dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband."

Romans 7³ - "So then, if while her husband liveth, she is married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband is dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man."

1 Corinthians 7³⁹ - "The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband is dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord."

I've seen women in our churches who take this rebellion against husbands even further. We are to show respect with and obedience to those whom God has placed in authority over us but we are to "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you" (Hebrews 13¹⁷).

However, some of those rebellious women I've known have also carried this rebellion and defiance to spiritual authority to ministers and pastors. It seems that this "men are gods" doctrine has led them to consider they are in a position above their pastor's leadership and any other authority or individual who does not agree with Shaw's teachings.

When the pastors, and/or church leadership, discovered the reality of Engeltal and Gwen Shaw's teachings, they rebelled against them and taught, by example, their children to also defy the God given authority of the ministers of the church.

When the minister attempts to teach the heresies of these Shaw heresies, these ministers are then said to be controlling and having a controlling spirit.

“There is a spirit of overbearing domination in the land in these last days. Man is seeking to gain mastery and predominance over others of God’s creation..." (Love, The Law of the Angels, pp.71-3)

Yes there IS INDEED a spirit of overbearing domination in the churches in our land. However, it's not on the Godly men. It IS however, in men and women are seeking to gain mastery and predominance over others of God’s creation... That's where the controlling spirits are. These devils are working in those who wish to control the actions and thoughts of the ministers and others in the church. And it's done not so much openly, but rather, very subtly. It's not so much what they say, but how they act when their heretical doctrines or controlling spirits are confronted. It's then they become belligerent and openly rebellious and defiant against those who know the truth and are a threat to them and their Engeltal doctrines.

Shaw continues...:

“Personally, I cannot understand why any woman would submit to this spirit of dictatorship, especially when she lives in a free land where it is not forced upon her by a tyrannical government. I can understand that for the woman who is too weak to resist temptation because of her lack of dedication to God or love for Him, it is a good ‘cop out.’ She can readily make an excuse for herself when her husband wants her to join him for a weekend gambling in Las Vegas, a few drinks at the bar, a night at a porno movie, or what-have-you. Her religious teachers have said she MUST obey her husband...

“Why are women who know God’s Word not submitting? Because they don’t see God in their husbands... How can a husband be looked upon as ‘God’ if he lives like the devil? It is impossible. And the woman, in trying to fill the role of a submissive wife becomes frustrated because she WAS created to submit to a man whom she can honor and respect and love... Do you know, it is strange that Paul never tells a woman to LOVE her husband?” (Love, The Law of the Angels, pp.71-3)

Gwen Shaw has now loosed the wives from any man with whom they do not wish to remain with as God's Word instructs. They don't have to submit, obey, or conduct their wifely duties (copulation, etc.) simply by saying that their husbands are domineering and wanting to "use" them for supposed ungodly acts. However, this is according to what the wife perceives and of course, if the husband tries taking his Priestly role in the household and requests that his wife turn away from, and/or renounce, Shaw and her new age heresies.

OH, yes, Shaw's book "Love: Law of the Angels" speaks of love to all, including their enemies, EXCEPT husbands and church leaders who desire to keep the camp sin and heresy free.

Unsaved husbands are put into the same sack with "husbands who are wrong" when, in their wife's perception, is deemed domineering and/or cruel, thus making him unworthy of their wife's submission. However, concerning a wife's submission, the Word of God does not put an exception to the rule. God's Testimony and requirements on this are ABSOLUTE and IRREVOCABLE ! I submit again, God's Word on this:

Colossians 3¹⁷ - "Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord."

1 Peter 3¹ - "Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the deportment of the wives;"

1 Peter 3⁵ - For after this manner in former times the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:

These new age heresies which Shaw teaches her followers and writes in her books are damning doctrines which will tear apart marriage and break down God's levels of authority. Remember, "...the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the Savior of the body" (Ephesians 5²³)

HUMAN BLOOD: The Blood is Congealed Light

All tangible matter is considered evil in the realms of gnostic doctrines, and nothing but the spiritual world a good thing. They believe that since God is pure and holy, that He would, or could, never put His Son into a sinful fleshly body. They believe that Jesus came into the world spiritually and died spiritually. They believe that nothing about Jesus Christ of Nazareth was of the physical flesh.

This devilish doctrine denies that the Blood of Jesus was ever shed on the cross. Therefore we have no literal shedding of the Blood of Jesus Christ for our sins.

But rather, they believe that Jesus Christ poured out his "light" which they believe is His "glory"... and we clearly know that it was the "Blood" of Jesus Christ of Nazareth which cleanses us of our sins (Hebrew 9²²; Matthew 26²⁸).

Shaw writes, “What type of blood flowed through [Jesus’] veins? Who did He say His father was? He said ‘My father in Heaven.' He had the blood of His father flowing through His veins, the Blood of God… that same life-line that flowed in the first Adam, except that Jesus also had his mother’s blood type and she was of the line and lineage of David and Adam… Jesus’ blood was a mixture of deity and humanity, light and darkness, life and death, and love and hate. The God within Him overcame the curse that had come on humanity through sin.” (Love, the Law of the Angels, p. 112-13)

Jesus didn't just have the Spirit of His Father living IN Him, but rather, Jesus WAS and IS God. He is all that His Father is. He's 100% God through His Father, and 100% human through His mother.

“Oh, what a fountain of love that flowed through the veins of Jesus! That is what made the Blood of Jesus pure. It was the essence of love flowing in His human body. It was love liquefied that flowed from his many wounds, starting a fountain of cleansing that would bring redemption to a fallen planet... in that bloodstream flows the very love of God. That is why the Blood of Jesus is the Love of Jesus.” (Love: Law Of The Angels p.113)

This heretical view of redemption derives from the Gnostic belief that Adam-Kadmon — Adam-Eve in the spiritual, androgynous state — did not have blood in their veins, but “divine light,” the essence of divinity. And that, as the “first Adam” embraced the material realm, the “divine light” congealed, becoming “blood,” and the divine androgyne lost its “glory,” which is precisely the way Gwen Shaw introduced this heresy:

“Scientists lately have been making an extensive study about blood because they saw there is something peculiar and supernatural about blood. They have come to this conclusion: that blood is congealed light. It is light that has become solidified. In other words, in the body of man there are veins and these veins are flowing with a red substance which is none than light. Light that has mystically become congealed. How did our blood become congealed light? What was man’s original state in his first creation? When God first created Adam, what gave him power of eternal life in the garden? In the veins of my father light, or blood like mine, but I they were created there was the veins and this is what gave them eternal life. This is the glory that they lost when they sinned and a curse fell on the human race. From then on all human flesh began to lose that river of light through generation after generation, as man in his fallen nature fell further and further away from God’s purity of holiness, and our blood changed with each generation as iniquity increased more and more, so that in our day we have turned into destroying our very own flesh and blood, the innocent babies that are created within us. We were created to be ‘gods’ ruling over the universe as joint-heirs with Christ, but instead we have become destroyers of that creation. So today that river of light and life is under the sentence of death. The light is still there, but it is so densely congealed that it does not have the power in itself to cleanse our bodies from its defilement and weakness.’ ( Leviticus 17¹¹)” (Love: the Law of the Angels, p. 106)

Gwen Shaw has stated, “We were created to be ‘gods’ ruling over the universe.” This is exactly what Lucifer in the form of the serpent told Eve, that she and Adam could be as gods... and it was a lie then too. (Genesis 3⁵). It's an old false teaching brought our by most cults and new age groups.

Shaw also gives us yet another heresy, in the form of a false prophecy:

“The Blood of Jesus is going to become more powerful in the end time. More powerful than the day it poured from His veins, until it will touch our very bodies, and not only will our spirits be changed, but our bodies will be changed.” (Love, the Law of the Angels, p. 115)

If Gwen Shaw would just look into the Word of God, she would clearly see that this teaching is heresy. Hebrews 13⁸ tells us that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and to-day, yea and for ever." This doesn't come close to implying that anything, including the body, or blood, or anything else is excluded. His Blood is indeed a part of Himself, and He is the same now as He was 2000 years ago. There was just as much power in His Blood on Calvary, as it is today and in the future.

Even the occultic and new age websites agree with Gwen Shaw. We can look at the teachings of "Libra Rising"

They write the following:

"Fasting or purification is the key to ascension or immortality, and love and truth are the triggers.

"Cleanliness IS godliness! By keeping your body, mind, and spirit clean you are in effect fulfilling your divine mission - which is to become god… First of all, you are god, although a fallen god. Originally, you were an angel or ball of light energy who in the course of time immersed yourself in the various elements... It is our destiny to experience good and evil, but it is also our destiny to overcome evil, just as light overcomes darkness...

"...Possession or incarnation is our first selfish act... This is our first fall. Matter is and will always be both a teacher and enemy to the spirit…

"After a large meal, much of the life force energy which is largely centered in the brain is diverted to the digestive tract resulting in drowsiness or sleep... By eliminating solid foods we liberate a large portion of the life force to do other work such as repairing and refining. If we go a step further and eliminate liquids as well, even more of the life force is liberated, greatly speeding up the regeneration process...

"That surplus energy is simply the result of a cleaner (more oxygenated) and faster moving bloodstream. Blood is congealed light. Light builds blood and blood builds bone and tissue. The first humans who neither ate nor drank were covered in a glowing halo or white light because that is exactly what was coursing through their veins! When they began eating, that light congealed or thickened into blood. The halo disappeared, along with our spiritual clarity and power. Food blocks the full flow of spirit diminishing our aura or life force which in turn diminishes the length and quality of our lives. So why do we eat? Eating was introduced to us by the reptiles, who, jealous of our perfect state, decided to bring us down with them. They succeeded. They have done this with every new race introduced to this planet. Adama, or white man, was the latest casualty. Few of every race have recovered, and until there is a sufficient number, we will continue to remain enslaved to this planet...

"Eating upset the hormonal balance in bisexual humanity and led to the division of the sexes and to the sex act itself. Eating leads to sex. Sex and reproduction are a means of saving the race from certain death and extinction, in the hope that those given birth to will regenerate. By refraining from food, one stops death and sex (as we know it), and guarantees one's immortality. ...Even going back to a simple fruit diet is perhaps too much too expect of our present society, but this shows how far we have strayed from our original state as divine beings."

Considering that many of Gwen Shaw's teachings are just like the teachings of those in the occult, this could be the reason why one must do a 21-day fast, which is mandatory for joining End-Time Handmaidens Servants. Gwen Shaw also writes that one MUST fast in order to receive “The Anointing.”

What these false teachers have not realized is what Romans 8^15-17 says. In Romans we find these words: "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."

This tells me that when we become "joint-heirs with Christ", joint means "equal to," that is, joint in ownership, power and authority, when keeping in context with the Word of God. So being joint-heir WITH Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and He is the SON of God (Mark 1¹), then we become the Children of God... not gods.

In 1952, a Mormon mystic, Annalee Skarin, wrote "Ye Are Gods," the book which inspired Gwen Shaw to write Love, the Law of the Angels. (Evidence to be presented.) In her book, Skarin cited the Doctrines Covenants of the Mormon Church for their doctrine of “The Anointing of Light,” which confers supreme power and divinity upon the recipient:

“‘We were meant to obtain ‘all power, both in heaven, and on earth, even as Christ did.’ (Romans 3²³) His glory will become our glory... This most sacred anointing of Light should be the greatest, most intense desire of every man. It can only be given when each individual has prepared himself for it through the sanctification of his life through righteousness... The anointing of light is not a thing of wild hysteria... It is an anointing of divine majesty and supreme power — a majesty of supreme God in all its unspeakable, enfolding glory. This is the complete opening of the doors to the kingdom of God, within, in which all things are revealed — and all power bestowed... This last unfolding can take place in an instant — ‘The Anointing of Light,’ but the full preparation of it will have to be completed in perfect, most minute detail first... Thus as [every man] brings forth the Christ — or the ‘anointing of light’ from within himself he places the crown of divinity upon his own head... It is the ordination of God, the ‘Birth of the Spirit, the Anointing of Light.” (Ye Are Gods, pp. 220-21,230-231)

DUALISM: A Gnostic Doctrine

Keeping in context with her gnostic doctrines, Gwen Shaw brings us teaching of dualism. This is the teaching that the world is in an ongoing struggle between good and evil, as though Jehovah God and Lucifer were completely equal in power and authority in all things from eternity past. They believe that this old dirt ball called earth is a battle ground to see who will ultimately reign in eternity. That final war will be the deciding point between God and HIS followers, and Satan and those who are gullible enough to follow him and his false prophets and teachers.

"The terrific struggle between good and evil will have to come end. Not only is this planet earth a battle ground between Satan and God, but also you and I who were created out of the dust of this earth are a battleground for the conquest of the ages.

“Today there are two kinds of people in the world. They are the sons of light and the sons of darkness. The Essenes, whose writings have been discovered in the Qumran caves at the Dead Sea, have always believed that the final battle of all ages will be the battle between these sons of light and the sons of darkness. Don't you think for one minute that God is going to permit you to go A.W.O.L. while the battle of all ages is going to be taking place on the final battlefield of this planet! You better make up your mind you are going to be there — on one side or the other! You say, ‘But what about those who have died?’ They will be there too. I see them coming with the armies of heaven just like Jude saw them... (Jude 1^14-15)” (Love the Law of the Angels, pp.134-135)

Gwen Shaw does not inform her readers that the Essenes of Qumran were apostate Jews who removed to Alexandria from 70 A.D. to 132 A.D. There they taught the Alexandrian Gnostics who produced corrupt manuscripts of the Old and New Testaments as well as many Gnostic gospels. H.P. Blavatsky described the Essenes as pagan priests of the Greek goddess, Diana:

“Essenes... They had many Buddhistic ideas and practices; and it is noteworthy that the priests of the Great Mother at Ephesus, Diana-Bhavani with many breasts, were also denominated... It was at Ephesus where was the great College of the Essenes and all the lore the Tanaim had brought from the Chaldees..., believed in reincarnation.” (Theosophical Glossary, pp. 113-14, Secret Doctrine, Vol. II, p. 111n)

Gwen Shaw stands firm on the teaching that the we Believers are and will be protected by be the LIGHT shining through them, which she defines as “enlightenment” or “illumination”:

“Either we are the children of light or children of darkness, and all our multitude of words and niceties which we portray to deceive people not be able to protect us in that day. Our protection will be the LIGHT that is shining through us...” (Love the Law of the Angels, p. 135)

We must remember that when these "enlightenment" and "illumination" doctrines are brought forth, they are also filled with the false doctrines of the "Angel of Light" who is Satan himself (2 Corinthians 11¹⁴).

The SOUL's PRE-EXISTENCE Pre-Existing human souls

While Gwen Shaw does not support any doctrine of reincarnation, she does teach a form of it which is the pre-existence of souls which is solidly found in Mormon doctrine, not to mention, the Jewish Kabbalah. Here is an example of Shaw’s complete Reversal of the meaning of Scripture.

Shaw writes:

“And when God saw this light He said, ‘IT”S A NEW DAY!’ ...It was the origin of all God's creational works... "You and I were there that day to see it, but we don’t remember." However, "God tried to remind Job" when He said, ‘Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? ...When the morning stars sang together and all the Sons of God shouted for joy! (Job 38^4,7)’ Some day we will remember what we saw on that glorious day of splendor and beauty.” (Love, The Law of the Angels p. 133)

Shaw seems to interpret Job 38:4,7 as God “reminding” Job of his preexistence, instead of putting it all in context with a larger portion of the Word of God.

She writes:

“And when God saw this light He said, ‘IT”S A NEW DAY!’ ...It was the origin of all God's creational works... You and I were there that day to see it, but we don’t remember. However, God tried to remind Job when He said, ‘Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? When the morning stars sang together and all the Sons of God shouted for joy! (Job 38:4,7)’ Some day we will remember what we saw on that glorious day of splendor and beauty…” (Love, The Law of the Angels, p.133)

Miss Shaw really destroys the context of verses 4 and 7. We must also look at verses in the previous chapter. Looking at Job 37^14-19, we see that God tells Job to "Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God. Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine? Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge? How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind? Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?"

Here we find that God told Job to consider what "He" [God] had done, then asked Job several questions:

Do you know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

Do you know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of Him which is perfect in knowledge?

How your garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

Have you with him spread out the sky...

This lays the foundation of what we read in Chapter 38. First, in verse 4 we find God asks, "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding." Considering the context of this with what we read in Chapter 37, we find that implies something completely different from what Shaw states.

When these two chapters are put together contextually, He's asking "What do you know about My creation?' Do you know anything about it firsthand? Were you there when I laid the foundations of the earth? If you know anything about it, then say so.' Of course the answer is 'No, indeed.' Then He goes on past v7 saying, "Who hath laid the measures of it, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Upon what are the foundations of it fastened? or who laid its corner stone;"

Contrary to what Gwen Shaw claims, God was showing Job that he doesn't know anything at all. He was not there when these creation experiences occurred. Job could say nothing about how it all came into being because he was not there.

The New Age false prophet, Annalee Skarin also teaches this heresy; She writes:

“But this great ‘Light of Truth’ or ‘Spirit of Truth’ or ‘light of Christ,’ of which we are a part, and were a part, even from the beginning (and there is no beginning, and no end), existed long before that time. "For we too were with God before the works of creation began, ‘The Spirit of Truth.’ The light of life, or spark of the Divine Spirit of Christ, is the original source of our existence.” (Ye Are Gods, p. 211)

This kind of false doctrine allows for many unGodly heresies.

It allows for fallen angels [devils] to present themselves to human beings as:

deceased friends,

ancestors,

famous people who have a message from God,

spirit guides.

These fallen angels often present themselves as “Jesus.”

This abomination is referred to in Scripture as having or consulting “familiar spirits.” We must look to the Word of God. In Deuteronomy 18^10-11 says that, "There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer."

Even men like Joseph Smith had a familiar spirit (a devil) named Moroni who gave him an unGodly religion.

Also there's a recompense for them who do these things. In Lev. 20²⁷ we find that "A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones. Their blood shall be upon them."

OUR INSPIRATION: Is It God's Love and Guidance?

First, we must know that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Timothy 3¹⁶).

We must "Study to show thyself approved to God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2¹⁵). Miss Shaw apparently hasn't been studying enough or she'd surely not teach some of that which is taught at Engeltal. If we study and live according to the Word of God, then we, the 'True Believers" will be able to live prosperous and successful lives (Joshua 1⁸).

If Shaw's followers aren't getting their guidance from the Holy Ghost, or through the Word of God, then where are they taught to look for guidance?

This brings us back to the "light" and "illumination" again. Where is the light? Shaw says it's "right within us." Shaw writes:

"Where does the light speak? It speaks where it is — 'right within us' ... 'And it is there in your soul that God speaks from.' 'Right inside you.' When we deaden this voice by constantly disobeying it, we diminish our ability to hear God speak to us. Then we can no longer hear with the spirit-ears, and so we start to rely on our natural ears. That is how we can get wrong guidance.

“There are three ways in which God's children are being led:

1. They are guided by the love "of God ruling in every decision" they make.

2. They are guided by circumstances.

3. They are guided by their senses.

Let us strive to get our guidance by the first of these, for it is the highest order…” (Love the Law of the Angels, p.139)

Interestingly, Shaw mentions nothing about studying the Word of God and letting the Holy Ghost guide us from that study. The Word of God is the only absolute guide for mankind.

I started to ask myself why Miss Shaw never mentioned studying the Word of God as we're instructed in (2 Timothy 2¹⁵). Well, I got the answer at the same time this question came to mind.

If Shaw's followers would actually 'study' God's Word, then they would see all the heresies of Engeltal doctrines.

However, according to Shaw, in her twisted understanding, the “love of God” which is the “light within us” is the inner voice we must listen to for guidance. This is a very dangerous practice, especially when they are not also taught to 'Study to show yourself approved unto God'... Just listening to the "inner voice," we can and probably will open our live up to our own thoughts and ideas, and much worse, we would open ourselves to the doctrines of devils... and in my humble opinion, that's pretty much what I see in much of Gwen Shaw's heretical doctrines.

That's the guidance... now we come to love.

And how does she define love? Shaw says that "While it is true that love can be twisted because of its human it is also true that love... is the very God-nature implanted into the human race... Love is devotion, loyalty tenderness and attachment of the inner heart, mind and soul of one person for another. 'It is feeling' in one’s being the 'vibrations' of the Holy Trinity, for it comes from the Holy Trinity... (Romans 5⁵)" (Love, the Law of the Angels, p. 207)

This is an interesting thought. The nature of God is implanted into the human race? It is a feeling? I think not... at least not according to God's Word, which Shaw doesn't want her followers to study.

So How does the Word of God define Love? I see in 1 John 4⁸ says that God is love. So Love is God. That's "agape" love, that love which is unconditional.

I find that "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments; and his commandments are not grievous." (I John 5³)

According to God's Word, Unconditional Love is keeping the commandments, and that can occur only when the Spirit of Christ lives within us. However, according to Shaw, love is "feeling the vibrations" of the Spirit of God within us.

Where does she get such a doctrine? It comes from the Mormon mystic, Annalee Skarin whose teachings tell that love is being “vibrations” located in the center of each human being. For example:

"When thought and "emotion" mingle the thought is conceived and will come forth. When they connect with the "feeling", or "emotions" they become living, "vibrations,” generated unto growth and power, expanding into life and will surely grow into their full stature of fulfillment...

“A thought must be harbored as an "emotion", such as a fear, or a deep desire, which find lodgment in the "vibrating essence" of life, then only is it liberated into the forces of creation. This point where thought and emotion meet is also the place where "vibration" is released, AND "VIBRATION IS LIFE.

“The place of vibration is the center of life in each human being...” (Annalee Skarin, "Ye Are Gods, p. 69)

Gwen Shaw gives precedence to the “law of the heart” and her other perceived “unwritten laws” with only an oblique mention of the law of God:

“Love is the fulfilling of ALL the laws, even the unwritten ones, the "law of the heart," the "law that the saints and angels keep", the "law of heaven…" Love also demands obedience to the Lawgiver…” (Love the Law of the Angels, p. 6)

But the heart of the human being is not at all reliable. Consider the words of Jeremiah the Prophet who writes "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jerermiah 17¹⁰) Jesus identified the contents of the heart of man. It is not a pretty picture:

That was in the Old Testament. Now let's look at the new. Jesus taught "That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. (Mark 7^20-23)

I think that is clear as to what can be done with Gwen Shaw's doctrine...

It seems that most of Gwen Shaw's teachings come straight from Joseph Smith's Mormon text books along with Annalee Skarin's new age, alchemist, mormon, mystic, menagerie. All of these which we've gone over and more besides.

We will find here that so many of Shaw's doctrines are near identical to Skarin's heresies. To show how New Age and Mormon Shaw's teachings are, here's some comparisons between Shaw's and Skarin's writings:

Love is the Theme song of the universe:

Annalee Skarin: “And love is the theme song of the universe... It is the melody of heaven... Love is that melody that will vibrate across the entire universe... Love is the divine symphony of eternity.”

Gwen Shaw: “What is love? Love is the theme of the universe, the symphony of heaven, the inspiration of life, the power of creation, the life of all we see and know...” (Love, the Law of the Angels, p.2)

“The Light” created all light:

Annalee Skarin: “Light is life, and life is intelligence, or Spirit. It is energy. It is motion and activity — and it is the power of God. By it and OF it all things were created — the universe — the stars — the worlds — and mankind. ...The Light of Truth ...IS THE LIGHT OF CHRIST... The light which is in all things, which giveth life to all things, which is that law by which all things are governed, EVEN THE POWER OF GOD, who sitteth on the throne...” (Ye Are Gods, p. 198)

Gwen Shaw: “The glory of God is the 'Light of God' and it was 'through this demonstration that all life began to exist'... THE GLORY OF GOD IS THE LIGHT... Without light there could be no life... the two great attributes of God — LIGHT AND TRUTH... Truth is in the Light.” (Love the Law of the Angels, pp. 134-7)

Matter/blood is “congealed light”:

Annalee Skarin: “The scientist has discovered that the atom is composed of pure energy. As they continue in their search they will learn that energy is light, and light is spirit... All spirit or energy is matter in a more refined degree than is registered on mortal senses. And all matter is spirit, or condensed in its vibrations into tangible form so that mortals are aware of it.” (Ye Are Gods, p. 64, 67)

Gwen Shaw: “Scientists lately have been making an extensive study about blood because they saw there is something peculiar and supernatural about blood. They have come to this conclusion: that blood is congealed light. It is light that has become solidified... Light that has mystically become congealed.” (Love the Law of the Angels, p. 106)

“Inner Vibrations” are from God:

Annalee Skarin: “...VIBRATION IS LIFE. The place of vibration is the center of life in each human being... Vibration is the eternal, actual substance of existence... When one feels that throbbing vibration of joyous ecstasy within he may begin to comprehend that it is the Light of Christ coming forth into activity.” (Ye Are Gods, pp. 69, 146, 298)

Gwen Shaw: “Love is devotion, loyalty, tenderness and attachment of the heart, mind and soul of one person for another. It is feeling in one's being the vibrations of the Holy Trinity, for it comes from the Holy Trinity... (Romans 5:5)” (Love, the Law of the Angels, p. 207)

“Unwritten Laws” are “higher laws”:

Annalee Skarin: ‘Below are listed some of the unwritten laws that should be understood in order to perfect the earth and create vibrations that will glorify a world... Only by applying the higher laws can man hope to can man hope to escape... the wickedness that has been planted on the earth. These deeper unwritten laws must begin to find a place in our life... The very power of the heart, soul and mind, united in... overwhelming love of devotion... fulfills all the laws, opening wide the doors to all light, all power all perfection.” (Ye Are Gods, pp. 149-50)

Gwen Shaw: “Love is the fulfilling of ALL the laws, even the unwritten ones, the law of the heart, the law that the saints and angels keep, the law of heaven...” (Love the Law of the Angels, p. 6)

“New Eves” will redeem mankind:

Annalee Skarin: “And since it was a woman who brought darkness into the world a woman will have to assist in rending that veil of darkness.” (Ye Are Gods, p. 293)

Gwen Shaw: “God is going to begin to show His glory to Eve's children... That is the reason God is using us handmaidens. Somehow God is going to allow us to make up for our mother's failure... the highest call which lies on each one of you ‘Eves’ is to... bring forth the sons of God in this generation, for God promised Eve that her seed would bruise the serpent's head. [Jesus, not ‘sons of God’] Let us travail that the sons of god will be born in this generation; for when we shall come forth, then our redemption will be complete.” (Love, the Law of the Angels, pp. 111-12)

“Angel apparitions” evidence of Holy Spirit filling"

Annalee Skarin: “Or have angels ceased to appear unto the children of men? Or has he withheld the power of the Holy Ghost from them?... for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and it is by faith that angels appear and minister unto men...” (Moroni)

“For no man has seen God at any time in the flesh, except quickened by the Spirit of God.” (Mormon Doctrines & Covenants)

“Therefore it is quite necessary that one lift his vision to begin to embrace the spiritual conception of existence. After this complete purification the promise is given that the veil will be rent and then man, being ‘quickened’ or ‘spiritualized’ by his higher concept of though, in tune with the Holy Spirit, will be able to see God...” (Ye Are Gods, pp. 105, 118-19, 138, 293)

Gwen Shaw: “There is a ‘veil’ between our eyes and the spirit world. ...now and then when God lifts that ban and we are able to see what we call visions. It is then that we can see angels, demons, the saints, our heavenly home, the agony of hell and Jesus our Lord...

“Could it be that the quickening we receive through the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a part of that glorious millennium-enlightenment that we are awaiting? I believe it is. This is also the reason why many when they are filled with the Holy Spirit see visions... On the mission field I have seen the mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Children were taken into the heavenlies. They saw angels, talked with Jesus and visited their heavenly mansions. The true visitations from God will be so dynamic that it will shatter our previous reservations and traditions which have blinded, deafened and dulled our spiritual understanding.” (Love, the Law of the Angels, p.145)

IN CLOSING: Final Notes, Warnings, and Wisdom:

In the abundance of evidence as to the doctrines of Gwen Shaw and Engeltal's End-Times Handmaidens and Servants, I would hope that you can see that it is clearly a gnostic combination of New Age, Mormon, and Ancient heathen doctrines, intermingled with a little of the Truth of God's Holy Word. The similarities between Mormonism and Shaw's doctrines of Engeltal are remarkably similar. Her unGodly doctrines go so far as to include parts of Kabbalism and other unGodly heresies.

Doctrines and teaching like this are why we're sternly taught to "study"... So that we can recognize false doctrines when they raise up their ugly heads. They have devious methods of protecting themselves from those of use who share the truth about Engeltal and Miss Shaw.

They use passages like I Chronicles 16:22 in which God instructs us to "Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm."

However, this passage is speaking of true prophets; Prophets who speak the Truth of the Living God; Prophets who are Chosen and Called by Jehovah God.

But this passage does not hold weight when speaking of false teachers, false prophets, and other's who carry such heresies to the innocents.

We who teach the Truth, must show where there are errors, especially gross errors like these we've learned about here. The Apostle Paul, in the Word instructs us to “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” (1 Thessalonians. 5:21)

I find that Titus 3^10-11 tells us that we should reject heretics (those who teach heresies). The Word says that "A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.” (Titus 3^10-11)

Paul was very stern with that direction. I think he felt the importance and urgency of keeping heresies out of the Church.

This brings me to one of my favorite passages. One which I use for anyone brings false doctrines to my door. I read that “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” (John 1^9-11)

We the True Believers in today's Church have an obligation to unveil those who are working under Lucifer's enlightenment deception; To make others aware of false doctrines and false prophets. That's what I'm intending here.

It's our obligation to protect our children, families and fellow Believers from damnable doctrines like we find in Engeltal, the Valley of the Angels. We must not allow this kind of sin and doctrine into the camps of our churches. The doctrines which Gwen Shaw teaches are very dangerous.

The really dangerous thing about Gwen Shaw's End-time Handmaidens, is that they are not just in Engeltal. They are around the world. They are infiltrating the churches, and planting seeds of doubt, discord, and unbelief. This MUST BE STOPPED!! The first thing is to warn the True Believers that these people are the wolves in sheep's clothing, about whom Matthew writes.

Matthew wrote:

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.” (Matthew 7^15-18)

These who practice the occult, and false doctrines and bring it into our churches, must be exposed!

Another issue in this is that they have people all over the world. Not just in Engeltal south of Jasper, AR. These followers of Shaw, her Engeltal, and her teachings are in our churches. And much of it is done by using our children.

They have children's and teen's camps, and so called revivals and such, and these are conducted many times a year at Engeltal.

My boy had gone to two or three of these camps. Both times he returned with a defiant attitude which became more and more rebellious each time. I now refuse to allow him to have close relationships, or to be socially around anyone whom I know has anything to do with Engeltal.... unless I'm by his side.

I find that 1 Corinthians 11³ says, "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." Being that I am the head of my household, and as such I'm responsible for there spiritual stability, I must consider what is spiritually beneficial or detrimental to the individuals in my family. We as parents and grand-parents must protect our future generations from Lucifer's deceptions if at all possible.

God has placed in the hands of His people the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. (Ephesians 6¹⁷) Just like the Sword held by the Cherubim (an angel) at the east of the garden, we can find that “the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing under of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4¹²). To put it simply, it's sanctification, not deification, which is at the core of the True Believer.

Lucifer's ministers will use the Word of God deceitfully, twisting God's Word to fit their heretical unGodly doctrines.

Their writings are full of Scripture, and some truth, but not in context with the surrounding passages OR the Word of God as a whole.

With their twisted use of the Holy Word of God, Lucifer's false prophets, teachers, and witnesses plant heresies into the minds of innocent individuals. These heresies then grow and lead that person astray.

Remember 1 Corinthians 5^1-6 which explains how false doctrines and sin gets into the church and a stern warning with 1 Corinthians. 5⁶. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

In other words, if we allow a little sin and false doctrine our homes and churches, then in time the entirety of that family or church will be in the hands of Lucifer. We must purge the leaven.

If we study the Word of God and get it into our hearts and minds, we can see the heresies as a consistent agenda of Gnostic doctrine.

ONE FINAL THING: The Appearance of Plagiarism and Thievery???:

As Minister of Music in our church, I was looking for a song on the internet and on HigherPraise.com, I found the song titled, "He Has Made Me Glad" (I Will Enter His Gates). Much to my surprise, I found also the author and copyright information. It was as follows:

However, something struck me as wrong with this. Being a musician, I remember singing this song in 1979-1985. But this says it wasn't written until 1987. It doesn't measure up.

So I researched a little further. I found that she most certainly did NOT write this song. I found the REAL copyright and author at CCLI, a Christian Music Licensing Organization who allows members a right to copy songs. They're records are accurate. I found CCLI's records show the following:
