What is Truthfulness?
Earning future trust by accurately reporting past facts.
It's related to the motivational gift of Prophesy Scripture Text: "Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members of one another." - Ephesians 4:25 Some of the Attributes: "Learning to be a reliable messenger." "Gaining the approval of others without misrepresenting the facts" "Facing the consequences of a mistake." "Earning trust by accurately reporting past facts and present circumstances." (a.c.e.) Questions to ask yourself: 1. Have you corrected the lies that you've told in the past and asked forgiveness for them? 2. Have you made right any cheating on past tests? 3. Do you tell God the precise sins which you commit and claim His forgiveness? 4. Have you ever boasted to your children that a clerk undercharged you or that you found money or possessions on the street without turning them in? Projects to help instill this quality: What does Revelation 21:8 say about liars? Bible Study Questions: 1. Give an example of a Bible character who demonstrated truthfulness. 2. How did Jesus illustrate truthfulness? What did He say about Truth? 3. Give an example of when Jesus admitted that He did not know the answer to a question? |
