    PUNCTUALITY
    vs
    Tardiness

      What is Punctuality?

  • Showing high esteem for other people and their time.
  • It's related to the motivational gift of Giving

    Scripture Text:

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."  Ecclesiastes 3:1

    Some of the Attributes:

  • "Showing respect for God's timing, as well as other people's time, by being on time or quick to act when a request is made."  (a.c.e.)
  • "Learning to arrange my schedule around the appointments that are made."
  • "Showing esteem for other people and their time by not keeping them waiting."

    Questions to ask yourself:

    1.  Do you plan on getting to an event before it starts or as it starts?
    2.  Do you know how to graciously excuse yourself from conversations that hinder you from being on time?
    3.  Do you pay those who serve you on their day of billing, or fit them around your convenience of payment?
    4.  When is the last time you got an overdue notice on a bill you owed?
    5.  Do you pay your bills to get them out of the way, or do you do it as a testimony and an expression of appreciation?
    6.  If dinner is set for 6:00, what time does your family expect to see you?

Projects to help instill this quality:

  • Remember, God is always on time!
  • Can you give an example from your life, when you thought God was going to be late to meet a need, and then had met it "just in time."

    Bible Study Questions:

    1.  Give a Bible Example of someone who was punctual.
    2.  Give a Bible example of someone who was not on time.
