    PATIENCE
    vs
    Restlessness

      What is Patience?

  • Accepting a difficult situation without attempting to give God a deadline to remove it.
  • It's related to the motivational gift of Teaching

    Scripture Text:

"And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope."  Romans 5:3,4

    Some of the Attributes:

  • "Learning how to wait to fulfill personal goals."
  • "Increasing the time you can wait between achievement and reward."
  • "Accepting a difficult situation with calm endurance without complaining or losing self-control."  (a.c.e.)

    Questions to ask yourself:

    1.  Do you buy things before you have the money to pay for them?
    2.  Is your primary concern to remove a problem or to see God's purpose in allowing it to exist in the first place?
    3.  Do those around you avoid you when you are going through a difficult situation?
    4.  Are projects more important to you than people?
    5.  Do you experience inward pressure when your plans didn't work out?
    6.  Are you willing to go through the training and experience required to become more proficient in your responsibilities?

Projects to help instill this quality:

  • Give an example of a Bible Character who demonstrated patience.

    Bible Study Questions:

    1.  How did Jesus illustrate patience?
    2.  How has God been patient with you?
