What is Faith?
Visualizing what God intends to do in a given situation and acting in harmony
with it.
It's related to the motivational gift of Exhortation Scripture Text: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1 Some of the Attributes: "Learning the basis of salvation and putting personal trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ. "Developing an unshakable confidence in God's Word." "Visualizing God's will and acting upon it." "Investing time and money in things that Count for eternity." Questions to ask yourself: 1. Can you give a clear testimony of your salvation experience? 2. Would your family be convinced that God lives by the answers to prayer you share with them? 3. Do your priorities illustrate that you believe God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him? 4. Have you given sacrificially to the work of the Lord? Projects to help instill this quality: Begin an individual or family prayer list by writing down the request and recording when and how God answered. In Hebrews 11, how was faith demonstrated; i.e. what did different people have to do to show that they believed God? Bible Study Questions: 1. How did Jesus illustrate faith? 2. What age group did Jesus lift up as an example? |
