      What is Diligence?

    Visualizing each task as a special assignment from the Lord and using all my energies to accomplish it.
    It's related to the motivational gift of Teaching



    Scripture Text:

    "And whatever ye do, do it heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men."  -  Colossians 3:23



    Some of the Attributes:
     

  • Seeing each chore as a special assignment from the Lord and doing everything to complete it.
  • Learning to study the Scriptures for accurate insight and interpretation.
  • Relating all other learning around the truth of Scripture.
  • Applying energy and concentration to assigned tasks.



    Questions to ask yourself:

    1.  When you study or work, do you anticipate that God will evaluate it?
    2.  Do you study or work in order to honor the name and reputation of Christ?
    3.  Are you alert to details that indicate mastery of what you are doing?



    Projects and Bible Study Questions to help instill this quality:  

  • How did Jesus demonstrate diligence?
  • Read Proverb 4:23.
  • Read 2 Peter 1:5-8
  • Look up Scriptures about slothfulness and slothful persons.
