      What is Dependability?

  • Fulfilling what I consented to do even if it means unexpected sacrifice.
  • It's related to the motivational gift of Teaching



    Scripture Text:

    "He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved."  -  Psalm 15:4b,5



    Some of the Attributes:
     

  • "Learning to be true to your word even when it is difficult to carry out what you promised to do."
  • "Lifting pressures from those you serve by consistently fulfilling the project they assign you."
  • "Being worthy of trust and doing what I said I would do, even if it means self-denial."



    Questions to ask yourself:

    1.  Do you ever give excuses to explain why a job wasn't done?
    2.  Can your pastor count on you to be at church services regularly?

  •  Does your family take you seriously when you say you are going to do something?
  •  Can God count on you to witness to a person He brings across your path?



    Projects to help instill this quality:

  • Give an example of dependability by a Bible Character.
  • Name at least two areas of life in which we should be very dependable.



    Bible Study Questions:

    1.  How did Jesus illustrate dependability in His life?
    2.  How has God been dependability toward you?
