What is Decisiveness?
Approaching a need, a task, an idea from a new perspective.
It's related to the motivational gift of Ruling Scripture Text: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.." - James 1:5 Some of the Attributes: Making all decisions based on the perfect will of God. (a.c.e.) Learning to finalize difficult decisions on the basis of God's ways and God's will. Refusing to reconsider decisions which we know are right. Making present commitments to avoid future failures. Questions to ask yourself: 1. Do you tend to re-evaluate past decisions and wonder if they were right? 2. Do you have sound Biblical reasons for your convictions? 3. Do you base present decisions on past commitments which you know are right? 4. Do your friends keep asking you to do things which in the past you told them were against your convictions? 5. When have you had to stand alone on the side of right when it cost you something? Projects and Bible Study Questions to help instill this quality: What does the Bible say about a double minded man? James 1:8 Where does double mindedness originate? James 1:8 When we have a single purpose to please God, it will be easier to be decisive. Think of an area where you have trouble making decisions. Now ask yourself if you are really completely submitted to God in this area? |
