      What is CREATIVITY?

    Approaching a need, a task, an idea from a new perspective.
    It's related to the motivational gift of Exhortation



    Scripture Text:

    "And be not conformed to this world:  but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."  -   Romans 12:2



    Some of the Attributes:
     

  • Meeting a need or a chore from a different point of view.  (a.c.e.)
  • Learning to complete tasks with a greater efficiency and quality.
  • Finding ways to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles.
  • Discovering practical applications for which Scriptural principals.



    Questions to ask yourself:

    1.  Does a new task bring fear to you or challenge you?
    2.  Are you quick to say "no" to a new idea?
    3.  Does an insurmountable problem cause you to give up or motivate you to search out God's Word for wisdom?



    Projects and Bible Study Questions to help instill this quality:  

  • Give an example from Scripture, of a person who demonstrated creativity.
  • Giving practical applications to Scriptural principals was a core part of Jesus' teaching. Give an example.
  • Creativity brings release from boredom. How can you do something this week that would be a creative alternative to routine?
